I am an Assistant Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS) and a faculty associate at the Institute of Water Policy, NUS. I am also a Fellow of the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
My research addresses questions pertaining to sustainable development and social policy. Currently, my three key research themes are access to basic infrastructure (energy, water, and sanitation); individual and household welfare (poverty, inequality, subjective well-being); and gender and development. My methodological approach is quantitative analysis and policy impact evaluation using primary, secondary, and administrative policy data.
My research has been published or is forthcoming in top development and A*/A journals including Journal of Development Studies, Energy Economics, Public Administration and Development, Social Indicators Research, and World Development. I have also published in reputed and high-impact policy journals such as Bulletin of the World Health Organization, Environmental Research Letters, and Water Resources Management. In 2019, I was included in the Research Honors List at LKYSPP as commendation for my research excellence.
